Services for Gerald Vickers of Thomasville are at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Gary Conger will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Robert Fox, Jim Fox, Jr., Dewayne Frazier, Donnie Vickers, Tim Hakes and Dick Hakes. Mr. Vickers died June 5, 2004 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Harmon and Mattie Collins Vickers. On June 17, 1956 in Whigham he married Erma McGinnis Vickers who survives. Mr. Vickers was a United States Army Veteran and was a retired shop supervisor from the City of Thomasville. He was a service manager for Thomasville Sales and a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Whigham. Other survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Jeff, Sr. and Brenda Vickers of Thomasville, son, Marvin Vickers of Tallahassee, FL, daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and James Fox, Sr. of Hixson, TN, grandson, Jeff Gerald Vickers, Jr., Jared Lee Vickers, granddaughter, Jilynn Marie Vickers of Thomasville, grandsons, James Ashley Fox, Jr., Robert Alan Fox of Hixson, TN, Matthew Ryan Vickers of Telford, PA, brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Betty Vickers of Cairo, GA, Clyde and Betty Vickers of Palmetto, GA, sister and brother-in-law, Ernestine and Leon Cooksey of Opelika, AL, sister, Wylene Frazier of Crystal River, FL, sisters-in-law, Montine Vickers of Whigham, Frances Vickers of Cairo and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Brothers, Jessie, Wendel and Willard Vickers, preceded him in death. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel from 7-9PM on Tuesday.
