Gertrude Moore Hinson

Services for Gertrude Moore Hinson, 96, are at 11 am, Friday, September 23, 2011 at the First Baptist Church Chapel. Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner will officiate and interment will be at 10 am before the service at Cairo Cemetery. Born October 23, 1914 in Pine Park, Ga, she was the daughter of the late James Goldwire Moore and Gertrude Barwick Moore. She was married to Byron Lindsay Doc Hinson, who preceded her in death. She was a longtime employee of Neel's Department Store, a member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed many years of membership in the Thomasville Garden Club. One of her favorite memories was when she and Doc spent time fishing on Lake Talquin. She is survived by her children, Bruce Hinson and wife Lea of East Dublin and Byron Hinson and wife Carol of Thomasville; grandchildren, Jeff Hinson and wife Michelle of Stuart, Fl, Brad Hinson and wife Bree and Karen Forehand and husband Sonny all of Thomasville, Rev. Dr. Michael Hinson and wife Jane of Alexandria, Va and Alan Hinson and wife Angie of Athens; great-grandchildren, Bill Roberts and wife Charity and Eric Hinson all of Stuart, Fl, Hunter, Gracen and Lindsay Hinson, Henry and Andrew Forehand all of Thomasville, Lauren & Sam Hinson both of Alexandria, Va., and Morgan Hinson of Athens. She was preceded in death by siblings, Charlie Bonner, Louise Lee and Edward Moore. The family will receive friends 7-8 pm, Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
