Gladys Marie Richardson

Gladys Marie Richardson, devoted mother, beloved grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, at the age of 78. She was born on June 2, 1948, in Colquitt, Georgia, and for many years, called Thomasville, Georgia, her home. A proud homemaker, Gladys dedicated her life to her family, ensuring that their lives were filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

Gladys was a vibrant spirit who never met a stranger. Her welcoming nature endeared her to all who had the privilege to know her. She was an excellent cook, particularly known for her love of chicken. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, coloring, and staying active, relishing every moment spent with her family.

She is survived by her loving children: Timothy Wayne Hudson of Pennsylvania, Jennifer Lynn Hill (Johnathan) of Georgia, Stacy Benton (Russell Jr.) of Thomasville, Tracy Kent (Sonya) of Thomasville, Donald Richardson (Marie) of Thomasville, and adopted daughter Piah George of Thomasville. Gladys was also the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren, 3 adopted grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings: Joseph Whitaker, Arnold Whitaker, Bradley Whitaker, Wendell Whitaker, and Russell Whitaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Lester H Richardson Jr., her grandchild, Timothy Wayne Hudson Jr., and siblings, Marlin Whitaker, Marion Whitaker, and Jerry Whitaker.

Funeral services for Gladys will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Grace Point Assembly of God, with Pastor Brent Welch officiating. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service for all who wish to pay their respects. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will include Shane Sanford, Jamal Murray, Daniel Bufford, Chris Felton, Benji Kennedy, Johnny Henderson, and Larry Tinsley.
