Funeral services for Gladys Brady Wade of Thomasville will be held at 2:00PM Sunday at the First United Methodist Church Chapel with th Rev. Leigh Ann Raynor and Rev. Bob Dixon officiating.
Interment will be at Floral Memory Gardens in Albany on Monday at 11:00 AM. Mrs. Wade died Saturday, April 27, 2002 at Camellia Gardens Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Dicey Brady. Mrs. Wade was married on May 23, 1936 to the late Andrew C. Wade. She was a Member of The First United Methodist Church where she was active with the Keennagers and the Sue McTier Sunday School Class and served on the administrative board. She was also a Sunday School Teacher for many years and was a Brownie Group Leader. She was also a long-time volunteer at Pebble Hill Plantation. Mrs. Wade received her formal education from Young Harris and Georgia Southwestern College. Her teaching career spanned several decades in several counties including Marion County, Sumter County and Dougherty County. She retired from the Dougherty County School System in 1978 where she was the PTA president.Ms. Wade was a Charter member and Officer of Gladious Garden Circle She was a long-time resident of Albany, Georgia and a charter member of Avalon United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wade is survived by two daughters, Sue Wade White of Thomasville and Sharon Wade and Wayne Davis of Acworth, Ga; two granddaughters, Whitney Wade White of Thomasville and Melissa Ann Davis of Dallas, Ga; a sister-in-law, Catherine Brady of Reynolds, Ga; a niece and her husband Caroline and Richard Tilley of Reynolds, Ga.
