Glenda Ruth Murphy Hicks

Graveside services for Glenda Ruth Murphy Hicks, 69, of Merillville will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hicks died on August 20, 2011 at her home. Born August 15, 1942 in Thomas Co., she was the daughter of the late James Albert and Irma White Murphy. She was married on May 20, 1964 to Douglas T. Hicks, Jr, who survives. Mrs. Hicks retired from Siemens, formally, Davis Water & Waste after 28 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Merrillville Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters and sons in law, Teresa and Steve Lamb of Merrillville, Donna and Robert Lindval of Ochlocknee, and a daughter Cindy Barfield of Thomasville. Also surviving are six grandchildren, one great grandchild and brothers and sisters in law, George and Brunelle Murphy of Avon Park, FL , Jerry and Karolyn Murphy of Thomasville and James K. and Jackie Murphy of Merrillville.
