Gloria Counterman

Gloria Counterman, aged 97, of Thomasville, passed away on January 31, 2025, after a lengthy illness. Gloria was born on February 16, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York, to Italian immigrant parents, Michael D. and Rose Munio. She was the first in her family to graduate high school and the first woman to hold a seat on the Vestry of Christ Church in Newton, NJ. She resided in Swartswood, NJ while raising her family and then ventured to multiple cities before settling in Thomasville. Gloria never turned away from a challenge or adventure. A service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 3:00 pm at All Saints Episcopal Church.
Gloria is preceded in death by her husband, Charles A Counterman Sr, her parents, and her brothers. She is survived by her lifelong longtime companion, Les Dinwiddie, her children Charles A Counterman Jr of Austin Corpus Christi, TX, Peter M Counterman of Tallahassee, FL, and Cathy Ann Sumner of Phoenix Queen Creek, AZ, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
