Glynis Wendy Flower was born in England on September 28, 1957, and spent every day of her 67 years turning the world into something more beautiful, more elegant, and more full of love. On June 18, 2025, she left this world peacefully and surrounded by family — but not without leaving behind a legacy too bold to ever fade.
She was the wife of her soulmate Lenny Flower, mother to Joanna and Cathleen, and the most affectionate Nanny to five grandchildren Mikayla, Gary, Brianna, Arianna and Payne and three great-grandbabies Grayson, Everleigh and a beautiful baby girl to come in October.
Glynis battled every day with quiet strength and zero self-pity. Even in the hard times, she showed up—dressed to the nines, smelling like Chanel, and accessorized like a Louis Vuitton catalog came to life. She loved the finer things in life and believed if you’re gonna do it, do it beautifully.
Glynis was incredibly smart — a quiet, powerful kind of wisdom that was passed down to her daughters Cathleen and Joanna . And her unmatched work ethic and dedication live on in her grandchildren.
Glynis had a heart for animals and spent years breeding cocker spaniels and caring for horses in Texas. And more recently feeding the chickens dinner leftovers in Georgia. Where tomato’s have began to sprout during her passing.
Her love of veterinary medicine trickled down through the generations: first inspiring her daughter Joanna to join her at the clinic growing up and soon after building a career that she loves deeply and soon after that her granddaughter Mikayla, proudly followed in her footsteps as a vet tech.
At home, she was surrounded by pets she considered family, Loki a German Shepherd and AC, the big white lab her grandson Gary picked out for her in Texas.
An extraordinary and breath taking painter, Glynis was a generational artist whose talent earned her a spot in the Bastrop Lost Pines Art League Gallery. She believed that “a painting is never perfect—if you make a mistake, don’t start over, create it your own.” She said this often.
Glynis was known for being stubborn in the best ways—loyal, and protective of those she loved. Her kindness and warmth radiated through every family holiday, where she made each moment beautiful and meaningful and as always creative. Her legendary trifle and Sunday dinners, followed by Harry Potter movie nights, these were staples that have created such incredible memories.
She was a woman of laughter, and late-night wine-fueled storytelling. Her daily phone calls, life advice, and relentless support will be missed more than words can ever express. She taught us to be respectful but stand our ground and to love deeply
She was our warrior, our artist, our anchor. She was our person.
So raise a glass (preferably something red), wear something that makes you feel beautiful, and say her name with a smile.
Rest easy, You painted our lives with such incredible love.
