Services for Grace Buckins Spires, 75, of Thomasville, are at 11 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2007 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Gene Vinson will officiate and interment is in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Spires died September 7, 2007 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born February 8, 1932, in Hazelhurst, she was the daughter of the late W. L. and Nettie Hand Buckins. On November 17, 1951, in Alma, she married Frank Spires, who survives. Mrs. Spires was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Other survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Andy Harwood and Linda Ann and Kenneth Rish all of Thomasville; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Beth Spires, Jr. Thomasville; grandchildren, Chris Harwood, Jennifer Lewis, Daisy Spires, Christy Spires, Hollie Rish Rosser and April Rish; great-grandchildren, Austin Ragan, Brianna Ragan and Gavin Harwood; sisters, Betty Morris of Hazelhurst, Pearl Watts of Brunswick and Lorine Simmons of Maryland; nephew, Billy Register and wife Margaret of Thomasville; and niece, Mary Frances Oliver of Thomasville. She was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Buckins; and sisters, Rosa Lee Rollin, Lillie Kilpatrick, Bessie Walls and Avis Dyal.
