Services for Grover Nelson Sexton, 88, of Metcalfe, are at 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Tim Robson will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Grover died Dec. 19 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Mr. Sexton was born on March 1, 1920, in Blakely. He was married to Mary Head Sexton, who preceded him in death. He was a retired salesman and a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Survivors include daughter, Patty Ecker of Metcalfe; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Johnny Browning of Alapaha; grandchildren, Cindy Taylor, Chris Taylor, Lisa Highsmith, Sherry Highsmith, Tammy Highsmith, Shawn Highsmith, Frankie Cochran, Brent Browning, Shelia Cox and Angel Howard; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughters, Mary K. Highsmith and Joan Howard; and son, Don Steptoe.
