Graveside services for Gussie Nadine Smith, 84 of Albany will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Maryland Street. Rev. Jason Jones will officiate. Ms. Smith passed away January 13, 2021 at Pheobe Putney Hospital. Born October 23, 1936 in Jacksonville, Florida, she was the daughter of the late George Edward Anderson and Janie Estelle Varnedoe Anderson. She was married to Jesse Steven Smith, who preceded her in death. She enjoyed baking cakes which she sold at the concession stand at Kitty’s Flea Market. She is survived by her children, Sue Vaughn, Kay Knight (Larry) and Mike Smith (Tonia); daughter-in-law, Patricia Smith; grandchildren, Susan Vaughn, Melissa Weaver, Chris Smith and Mandy Holt (Brad); great grandson, Zachary Knight; sisters, Joann Sellers (Ronald) and Sharon Collins and siter-in-law, Mildred Anderson. She was preceded in death by parents; husband; brother & sister-in-law, William & Audrey Anderson; brother, Arthur Anderson; son, Greg Smith, Sr; grandson, Greg Smith, Jr.; brother-in-law, David Collins and grandson-in-law, Joey Weaver.
