A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens for Gwen Becknell, 94, of Thomasville, on Saturday April 6, 2024, at 11am. Mrs. Becknell passed away March 26, 2024. Born November 30, 1929, in Bucyrus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Grier and Leifa Rife.
She was a graduate of Bucyrus High School. Following graduation she moved to San Diego, Cal., where she met her husband.
On July 10, 1953 she married William (Bill) J Becknell of Bourbon, Ind., who proceeded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Doug Becknell (Laura), Easley, SC., Brad Becknell (Janice), of Ocoee, FL., daughters Greer Cox (Dennis), of Thomasville, Mindy Denton (Bill Wilford), Quitman, GA. She is also survided by sister n laws, Caroline Rife and Pauline Becknell, six grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son-in-law Allen Denton.
