Harold Mark Morris Jr., 78, of Thomasville, Ga passed away on February 8, 2026, at Archbold Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Mark was born on April 29, 1947, in Douglasville, GA, to the late Harold Mark Morris Sr. and Ruth Rice Daniel. Mark was a graduate of the Henry Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia. He went on to earn a Masters Degree and Specialist Degree in School Psychology from the School of Education at the University of Georgia. He was a charter and founding member of GASP, the Georgia Association of School Psychologist. He started his career as a School Psychologist in Baldwin County following graduate school and had a long, fulfilling career. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Milledgeville, Ga. He was a loving son, father, and grandfather. Mark loved his family wholeheartedly, made them laugh daily, never missed a chance to hug them and tell them how much he loved them, and certainly never missed a chance to brag on them. He was at home on the water and spent many happy years on Lake Sinclair, skiing and boating, and on countless beach trips with his family. He often referred to the beach as his paradise. He was a lifelong dog lover and always had one by his side through the years. He was a baseball player, softball player, and baseball coach. Later, he traded playing sports for watching and reading sports and never missed an Atlanta Braves or UGA Bulldogs game. He will be greatly missed by his two children, Marlon Morris and his wife Rachel Morris of Erie, Colorado; Caroline Madden and her husband, Anthony Madden of Thomasville, GA; the mother of his children and best friend, Carolyn Morris of Thomasville, GA; and four grandchildren, Asher Madden, Poppy Morris, Eleanor Morris, and Leo Morris. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Mark Morris Sr. and his mother, Ruth Rice Daniel.

Per his request, there will be no formal service. The family will have a small celebration of life at a later date.
