Harold V. Bill Gaston

Services for Harold V. Bill Gaston, 82, of Thomasville are at 11:00 a.m. Monday Feb. 10, 2003 at the Allen and Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Robert Smith will officiate and interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Born on September 26, 1921 in Douglas, Ga. he was the son of the late O.B. Gaston and C.L. Gaston. On December 17, 1941 he married Virginia Holland Gaston who also precedes him in death. Mr. Gaston was a salesman at Thomasville Sales Company for 37 years. He was a graduate of Douglas County High School and a member of Dawson Street Baptist Church. Mr. Gaston was a decorated WWII soldier in the European Campaign and recieved a Bronze Star Medal. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Thomas W. Tommy Gaston and wife Janet of Thomasville, Joe Gaston and wife Cindy of Alpharetta, Ga., Jerry Gaston and wife Ann of Flowery Branch, Ga., Jim Gaston and wife Gloria of Thomasville, and adopted son Thomas Wayne Johns and wife Charlotte of Jacksonville, FL. He was preceded in death by brothers Ira Calton Gaston and Gwenette Gaston, and sisters Velma Costly and Thelma Strickland and sister-in-law Vicky B. Gaston.
