Harry Emile Murphy

Services for Harry Emile Murphy of Thomasville, Georgia will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Trinity Anglican Church, followed by graveside services at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Murphy peacefully went home to his Savior on January 6, 2013, with his family at his bedside. Mr. Murphy, born March 9, 1939 in Springvale, Maine to the late Arthur and Annette Murphy, was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Murphy is a retired Naval Officer and received many awards for his 20 year service. He is known for his commitment to his faith, church, and family. Harry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janella Southerland Murphy; daughters and son-in-laws Lorry and Eric Day, Kathryn Chastain, and Andrea and Darrell Skaling; seven grandchildren Anna Day, Meagan Jones, Kayla Jones, Danny Day, Riley Singletary, Shea Singletary, and Ian Singletary; siblings Arthur Murphy, Linda Duly, and Louise Mullen; and his sidekick dog Sadie.
