Services for Harvey L. Mullins, 81, of Thomasville are 3 p.m., Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Nelson Acosta will officiate and interment is in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Mullins succumbed to Alzheimer's disease on July 31, 2008 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. Born December 17, 1926 in Rayville, Louisiana, Thomasville became his adopted home when his family moved here in 1969. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sue Walker Mullins. Mr. Mullins was an Army Veteran, former farmer and a retired mechanic from Ryder Truck Rental after 26 years of service. He was an avid gardener and hunter. He was especially fond of hunting with his sons. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Other survivors include sons, Harvey Lee Mullins JR of Thomasville, Darryl Mullins and wife, Machalle of Pensacola, Fl, Eddie Mullins and wife, Rhonda of Thomasville, daughter, Carole Mullins Moser and husband, Bill of Columbia, SC, brother, Charlie Mullins of Pensacola, sister, Lucille Mullins Randolph of Johnson City, TN. Mr. Mullins, "Poppa", cherished his 11 grandchildren, Tammy Bloom, Ashley Stephens and husband, Shane, Justin Mullins, William Moser, Emily Robertson and husband Phillip, Melissa Mullins, Dakota Mullins, Joey Hootman, Joshua Hootman, Raymond Mullins and wife, Kim and Stephanie Mullins. He is also survived by 6 great- grandchildren. The family wishes to express appreciation for the loving care provided by the staff of the Presbyterian Home in Quitman.
