Funeral services for Hattie Loette Asbell Pendergast, of Thomasville, will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 1, 2006, at Dawson Street United Methodist Church, where she was a member for over 40 years. The Rev. Ramon Hernandez will officiate. A committal service at Bold Springs Methodist Church will follow immediately and interment will be at Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Pendergast died November 28, 2006 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born April 1, 1922 in Thomas Co., she was the daughter of the late Frank & Mellie Lucille Stewart Asbell. She was married to Alvis Watson Pendergast, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Pendergast was assistant manager of Mangel?s Dept. Store, an accomplished hairdresser for 40 years and active in supporting her children?s school activities. She was a 1941 graduate of Ochlocknee High School. She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law Carol Rebecca Pendergast & William Douglas Christian, of Jonesboro, Ga and son Cary Eugene Pendergast of Thomasville, granddaughter, Rhonda Leigh Christian Alexander, great grandchildren, Coleman Christian Edward Alexander and William Patrick Alexander. Also surviving are step grandchildren Rachel Leigh Christian and Kyle Douglas Christian, extended family, Ronald Edward Alexander, Ronald Jacob Alexander and Melanie Christian Harris and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother Clarence Eugene Asbell, and stepson, Jeffrey Douglas Christian. The family will receive friends Thursday, 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
