Mrs. Barwick passed away on November 30, 2014 at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, Georgia. She was born March 31, 1931, the 11th child of 15 children to the late Shelby and Gertrude Bates Peterman. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Harrell (Harold) Barwick and five children; Janet (Sonny Burt), Cathy (Danny McGahee), Judy Oliveto, Michael Barwick (Denise), and Kelly Pilkinton (Chris Rogers). She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren and four sisters; Dorothy Worsham, Jean Loyd, Ann Brown, Frances Hicks and two brothers; Wallace (Bud) Peterman, Jerry Peterman and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Barwick worked at Sunnyland Packing Co. for many years and Barwick's Sing Service Station as a bookkeeper prior to retiring. She was an avid gardener, loving her day lilies and known for her green thumb. She had many talents, including quilting, crocheting, canning vegetables and loved to cook for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also known for her big heart and would help anyone in need. Her cakes were famous among our family and friends. She made each and every family member quilts, crocheted table cloths and bedspreads. She would make dolls for the grandchildren when they were younger. Mrs. Barwick had so many talents that it kept her busy and she never had an idle moment.
