Hazel Frances Ethridge

Hazel Frances Ethridge, a long-time resident of Pavo, Georgia, died Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at the age of 97. Hazel was born on November 18, 1922, in Pavo, Georgia, to John D. Ethridge and Vera Inez Pitchford Ethridge Howard. Hazel was preceded in death by her father and mother; sisters, Agnes Deloris Ethridge, Jewell Ethridge Schmacker, Johnnie Mae Ethridge Hobbs, and Elizabeth Clarice Ethridge Leadbeater. She is survived by her two children, Lauren Kameika, and Thomas Kameika, his wife, Joy; and grandchildren, Tommy Kameika, Cristina Kameika, and Rebecca Kameika; nieces, Linda Brooks Fox, Phyllis Brooks, her husband, Jack; Sheron Hobbs Synhoff, and nephew, David Leadbeater; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. Hazel loved God, was a long-time United Methodist, loved gardening, and her volunteer work. The family wishes to extend heartfelt and sincere thanks to the nurses, caregivers and staff of Presbyterian Home and Retirement Community in Quitman, Georgia. Memorials may be given to: Pavo United Methodist Church, 1101 S. Sycamore, Pavo, Georgia 31778; and Presbyterian Homes of Georgia, 301 E. Screven Street, Quitman, GA 31643.
