Hazel Elizabeth Gordon Hurst

Services for Hazel Elizabeth Gordon Hurst, 75 of Coolidge will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Coolidge Baptist Church. Rev. Mike Keown will officiate and interment will be held in Little Ochlocknee Cemetery. Mrs. Hurst passed away September 30, 2013 at Archbold Hospital. Born November 27, 1937 in Colquitt, Ga; she was the daughter of the late John Hayward Gordon and Lillie Mae McKinnon Melton. She was married to Robert W. Hurst who preceded her in death. She retired from Warner's after 44 years of service as a shipping secretary. She is survived by her children, Robert R. Rob Hurst and wife Debbie, David Lee Hurst and wife Shirlie and Michael W. Hurst all of Coolidge; grandchildren, Tonya Hurst Nesbitt Corey, Amanda Hurst Lehman and fiancé Daniel Williamson, David L. Hurst II Cassie, Donda Davonda Hurst; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Johnny W. Melton and wife Jackie Smith, Harry T. Melton and wife Francine all of Pelham; sisters, Reba Melton Tinsley and Margie Melton Avery and husband Andy all of Pelham; special friend James Seawright and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by granddaughter, Davina L. Hurst; sister, Betty Ann Melton Presley and step-father, Joe Brown Melton.
