Services for Helen Whaley Craigmiles, 93, of Thomasville, will be held on Saturday, January 03, 2015 at 11AM at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Craigmiles passed away on December 28, 2014. Born January 22, 1921 in Pelham, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Sarah Catherine King Whaley. She was a nurse for 40 years at Dr. J.B. Neal’s Office. She was a member of the United Daughters of Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution and the charter member of the Valdosta Kennel Club, where she was secretary and treasurer. She helped start a blood bank with Dr. Warren Taylor and Dr. J.B. Neal. She taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church. She also taught pre-school children in Sunday School for many years. She was married to Joe E. Craigmiles, who preceded her in death. Survivors include son Joe Craigmiles and wife Virginia of Thomasville; special children Debbie, Monica Seth and Kirk Dahlberg; grandchild Jodie Lee Craigmiles and great grandson Alex Craigmiles; sisters Virginia Garett of North Carolina, Miriam Newton, of Boone, NC and Chrit Reever; cousin Judy and Ben Parker and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Albert Whaley, Alton Whaley and Grady Whaley and sister Doris Thompson. Donations may be made to the Thomasville Public Library Genealogy Room, P.O. Box 1597, Thomasville, GA 31799. The family will receive friends before the service at 10:00AM at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Guests may sign the online register at www.allenfh.com .
