Henry Clay

December 20, 1932 — August 26, 2020

Henry Clay went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 26, 2020 at the age of 87. Born December 20, 1932 in Hosford, Florida. He was the son of Dave and Donna Clay. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the Thomasville Fire Department after 32 years. He served as a Deacon at Fredonia Baptist Church and Gatlin Creek Baptist Church.



Henry spent his more recent years fishing, tending to his pecan and fruit trees, smoking meat, drinking coffee at the Food Champ, reading his Bible, and telling jokes. He spent every Friday eating with his great-grandchildren. Henry was on his knees praying for his family every night.



He loved his wife, Ruth of 55 years, his daughters; Alanna (Michael) Suber and Michel (Billy) Turner, his grandchildren; Natalie (Frank) Burton, Jessica Suber, Kaitlyn (Clay) Sellers, Kailey Turner, Clay Turner, and his great-grandchildren; Clayton Sellers, Honey Kate Sellers, and Hollyn Sellers. He is also survived by his sister, Imogene O’Bryan, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters.



Due to the circumstances, the family will have a private ceremony at Big Creek.
