Services for Henry Dowlin Owens, 89 of Thomasville are 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Dawson Street Baptist Church. The Rev. Lee Waller and Rev. Bob Ferrell will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons and Bill Giles and honorary pallbearers are his Sunday School Class, Deacons and the Golden K. Mr. Owens died August 30, 2009 at Triad Nursing Home. Born May 29, 1920 in Washington County, Fl, he was the son of the late Henry Thomas Owens and Neatie Virginia Finch Owens. On May 31, 1944 in Chipley, Fl, he married Louise Davis Owens, who survives. He was a member of Dawson Street Baptist Church, an active member of the choir and deacon board, served in the Army in WWII and was a disabled veteran. Mr. Owens was a retired instructor from Southwest Georgia Technical College, owner of O & H Heating & Air, a member and past president of the Gideon's International, a member and past president of Golden K, a member of Woodturners Club in Tallahassee, a former Boy Scout leader of troop 303 of Thomasville and a past member of the Thomas County Commissioners. Survivors include son Eric & Nancy Owens of Thomasville, daughter, Valerie & David Coley of Thomasville and daughter, Beverly & Todd Brown of Kennesaw, Ga; grandchildren, Michaelyn & Trevor Christensen, T.J. Owens, Erin Owens, Tyler & Christine Coley, Ashley Reagan, Whitney Coley, Brian Trance, Sam Trance and Emily Brown; great-grandchildren, Barrett Christensen, Caden & Connor Reagan; brothers & sisters, Minnie Rogers of Wausau, Fl, Dalton & Nita Owens of Roundlake, Fl, Howard & Marlene Owens, of Sneads Fl, Ray & Rose Pettis, of Albuquerque, NM, TD & Edna Pettis, NB & Louise Pettis, AD & Ann Pettis all of Wausau, Fl, Lottie & Ken Glass of South Port, Fl, Vita & Charles Stephenson of Bonifay, Fl and Exie & Clyde Mills of New Hope, Fl.
