Herbert D. Hayes

Funeral services for Herbert D. Hayes of Ochlocknee will be on Monday, February 3, 2003, at 11:00 AM at the Ochlocknee Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Norman officiating. Interment will be in Ochlocknee City Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Ochlocknee Baptist Church. Mr. Hayes died Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Plantation Manor. He was born on November 13, 1929 in Mitchell Co. to the late L.D. and Margaret Peek Hayes. Mr. Hayes was a retired salesman for Dixie Seed Co., a farmer, and was a member of Ochlocknee Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was married to Carol King Hayes of Ochlocknee who survives. Other survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Debby Hayes and James Miller of Ochlocknee, sons and daughters-in-law Bruce and Topreka Hayes of Meigs, Mark and Charlotte Hayes of Ochlocknee, brother and sister-in-law Charles C. and Carol Hayes of Titusville, Fl., sister and brother-in-law Vera and Joe Williams of Ochlocknee, grandchildren Brett Stewart, Trevor Hayes, Kyle Hayes, and Raine Hayes. He was preceded in death by a sister Naomi Hayes. Memorials may be made to The Georgia Alzheimer's Association at 1925 Century Blvd., Suite 10, Atlanta, Ga. 30345 or to Wiregrass Hospice in Bainbridge.
