Services for Herbert Eugene Barker, Sr. of Thomasville are at 2:00PM on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Randy Blow will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Barker died August 25, 2005 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born September 30, 1938 in Thomas Co., GA, he was the son of the late James William and Geneva B. Barker. He was married to Martha Rhoden Barker who survives. Mr. Barker was a Machinest and Welder at Hurst Boiler Co. Other survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Herbert Bert Eugene, Jr. and Daryl Barker, Paul Stephen and Cynthia Barker all of Douglasville, GA, stepson, Derek Murphy of Thomasville, stepsons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Pam Murphy of Avon Park, FL, Gary and Becky Murphy of Thomasville, Greg and Sandra Murphy of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Morgan Elizabeth Barker, Herbert Eugene Barker, III, Elissa Kennedy Barker, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Barker; 7 step grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild;sister and brother-in-law, Mary Kate and Ivan B. Stegall, Jr of Thomasville, brother and sister-in-law, George William Pat and Cheryl Barker of Blountstown, FL, sister and brother-in-law, Linda Dianne and Jimmie Rollins of Thomasville; nieces and nephews, John Barry Stegall, Kay Maree Currie, Joseph Ivan Stegall, James O. Barker, Bryan K. Barker; great nieces and nephews, John Barry, Benjamin Lee, Katlyn Gloria, Taylor Nicole, Justin, Jackie, Michael, Tyler, Jamie and Cheyenne.
