Herbert Bobby Shepherd

Services for Herbert Bobby Shepherd, 89, of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Miller will officiate and interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Shepherd passed away June 11th at his residence surrounded by the family he loved and that loved him. Born February 4, 1929 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Herbert Denson Shepherd and Bertha Kate Parramore Shepherd. He was married to Rosie Cook Shepherd, who survives. Mr. Shepherd was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1951-1955. He was an Airman 1st Class and received the Korean Service Medal, the UN Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He retired after 30 years of service from Bell South. He is also survived by his children, Travis Shepherd and wife Judy of Thomasville, Greg Shepherd and wife Ashley of Leesberg and Katy S. Bannister and husband Dennis of Thomasville; grandchildren, Nichole Shepherd Cox and husband Taylor, Denson Shepherd, Jake Shepherd, Robert (Bobby) Shepherd, Kevin Shepherd and wife Alesa, Thomas Shepherd, Tyler Bannister and Kate Bannister; great-grandchildren, Carter Cox and Luke Cox. His sister, Ernestine Price of Rockledge, Florida. He was preceded in death by sister, Margaret Shepherd Booker and brother, Carroll Walker Shepherd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Merrillville Baptist Church, 15 Airline Rd, Coolidge, Ga 31738 or Boy Scouts Troop#383, PO Box 4, Whigham, Ga 39897.
