Hershel Preston Ansley

Funeral services for Hershel Preston Ansley, 86 of Boston, will be at 11:00AM on Thursday January 5, 2023 at Pine Forest Baptist Church, where he was a member. Pastor Bob Knight will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. Born May 29, 1936 in Grady Co., Mr. Ansley was the son of the late Henry Lee and Madie Nix Ansley. He was married to the late Ella Peterman Ansley. Mr. Ansley was the owner of Ansley Realty and Auction Company and served as a Thomas Co. Commissioner for two terms. He served in the United State Air Force and was a part of the 6930th Radio Group. Survivors include 2 sons, Tim Ansley and his wife Linda of Thomasville and Rick Ansley and Theresa Brinson of Boston; 2 daughters, Jill Baggett and her husband Donnie of Boston and Jody Ansley and Shorty Folsom of Cairo. Other survivors include grandchildren, Jessica Winkleman, Chance Ansley, Mark Ansley, Chris Eaton, Michelle Eaton, Chasity Ansley, Beth Phelps, Kala Ansley, Brooke Rackley, Joe Baggett, Chris Baggett, Justin Dees, Joshua Dees, Preston Folsom, Ella Folsom, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Also survivng are a brother Robert Ansley and a sister Maelene Shores. He was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Ansley.
