Hettie Love Garnett, 92, of Thomasville, passed away March 29, 2013, in Thomasville, Georgia.
A memorial service will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Monday afternoon at 4:00 PM following a graveside interment with Reverend Judy Jones officiating. Allen and Allen Funeral Home of Thomasville is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Hettie Love was a lifelong resident of Thomasville and the daughter of Nathan Clark Douglas and Hettie Love Crovat, having been born May 23, 1920. After graduating from Thomasville High School, she finished her schooling with a degree in nursing at Emory University. She met her first husband, Mervin B. Wine, MD at Emory, was married then set up home making in Thomasville. She was a devoted member of St. Thomas Church of Thomasville.
She is survived by her second husband Richard W Garnett, MD of Charlottesville, Virginia and her daughters Margaret Wine Chesnut, of Indian Springs, Alabama; Elizabeth Wine Menger of Atlanta, and Susan Wine Kuhlman of Longview, Texas. Hettie Love also had four grandchildren; Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Chesnut of Arlington, Virginia, Margaret Chesnut Trammell of Birmingham, Alabama, William Ramey of Longview Texas, and Lynne Ramey of Gainesville, Florida. Five great grandchildren survive.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Thomasville, Georgia.
