Hilda Mckinney

Funeral services for Hilda Burnum Clements McKinney, 90, of Cairo, GA, are Wednesday, January 21, 2026, 11:00 a.m., at Gordon Heights Baptist Church in Cairo. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service, and the graveside service will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo. Mrs. McKinney passed away Monday evening, January 19, 2026. Her sons-in-law, Dr. Mike Keown and Rev. Keith Parks, will conduct the service, assisted by Rev. William Hurst and Rev. Chris Allen. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Mrs. McKinney was born May 23, 1935, in Berrien County, GA, to the late Louise Jackson Burnum and Ernest Lee Burnum. In November of 1953, she married Eston Clements. They built a loving home together in Cairo with their three daughters, worshipped and served together in Gordon Heights Baptist Church, and also built the business of Clements Hardware together. Mr. Clements preceded her in death July 19, 1983.

In June of 1985, she married Willie Odis McKinney. Hilda and Odis were active members of Cairo First Baptist Church and had many years of service there. They also had many years together enjoying grandchildren and traveling. Mr. McKinney preceded her in death May 8, 2020.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Mike Keown of Ochlocknee, GA, Gwen and Gary Lee of Cairo, GA, Judy and Keith Parks of Americus, GA; eight grandchildren, Michael (Keumele), Keith (Dawn), Amy (Adam), Matthew (Christina), Thomas (Jessica), Jonathan, David (Ansleigh), Jason (Maggie); 15 great-grandchildren with one more to be born in April; a brother-in-law Wayne Clements; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Ernest Burnum; by her husband Eston Clements and her husband Odis McKinney; by her siblings, Ernest Burnum, Jr, Elise Loper and husband Oliver, Annette Sandifer and husband Carroll, and Maurice Burnum and wife Betty.
