Services for Hope Murphy Baker of Coolidge are 2:00PM on Sunday, February 16, 2003 at Coolidge Memorial Baptist Church where she was a member. Rev. Mike Keown and Rev. Harold Pullen will officiate and interment is in Murphy Cemetery. Ms. Baker died February 12, 2003 in Andalusia, AL. Born August 13, 1921 in Thomas Co., Ga., she was the daughter of the late Luther Perry & Volena Pickett Murphy. A lifelong resident of Coolidge, she retired from Thomas County School System as a media clerk and was a homemaker in the truest sense of the word, making family and friends feel welcomed and loved. Survivors include a son, Cary C. Baker, Jr. of Andalusia, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Emalie and Larry Jarrett of Gillsville, GA.; son and daughter-in-law, David M. and Angie Baker of Andersonville, TN.; daughter-in-law, Cindy Baker; sisters, Nadine Borom and Donita Turner, brothers, L. P. Murphy and Lewis Murphy; grandchildren, Michele Terry, Trey Baker, Mark Jarrett, Mandy Jarrett, Jennifer Mims, Dave Baker and Amber Baker; four great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Virginia Stiles and two very special sisters-in-law, Rosa Lee Baker and Wynette Suber; many nieces, nephews and close family friends. She was preceded in death by sisters, Lois Inez White and Marie Megahee. Memorials may be made to the Coolidge Memorial Baptist Church.
