Howell Maurice Herndon

Funeral services for Howell Maurice Herndon will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 4 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Lester Allen will officiate and internment will be in Lebanon Cemetery in Pavo. Mr. Herndon died on September 1, 2006 at the Woodlands at Cobblestone in Moultrie. Born on August 13, 1937 in Brooks Co., he was the son of the late Staten Howell and Dallas Castleberry Herndon. He was of the Baptist Faith. A daughter, Holli Stevens of Jesup, Ga. and a son Kyle Herndon of Lake Park, Ga, survives him. Other survivors include brothers, Gerald Herndon of Valdosta, Ga and Wayne Herndon of Cairo, and sister Marie Bennett of Thomasville. Three grandchildren also survive him. Mr. Herndon was preceded in death by a son Brad Maurice Herndon and a brother Staten Randall Herndon. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 on Sunday at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
