Services for Hubert Paul Mercer, 78, of Thomasville are 3:00 pm, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gerald Horne will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Mercer passed away May 29, 2011 at Archbold Hospital. Born November 14, 1932 in Cedar Springs, Ga, he was the son of the late Macon Mercer and Eva Belle Chandler Mercer. On November 28, 1951 in Davie, Fl he married Jimmie Lou Gilliland Mercer, who survives. Mr. Mercer was a member of Rose City Church of God where he served as an adult Sunday school teacher and leader of Sunday night prayer service and was a mechanic and transfer truck driver at Ryder Truck Line. Other survivors include son Ricky Paul Mercer and wife Kathy of East Hartford Conn, daughter, Patricia Mercer of Boca Raton, Fl, son, Ronny Dale Mercer of Thomasville; grandchildren, Shane Paul Mercer, Jordan Rebecca Naibert, Ryan Paul Mercer; great grandchildren, Gage Mercer, Dee Mercer, Jenah Dawn Mercer; sister, Margaret Lane of Cedar Springs, Ga.
