Huey Carlton Calhoun, Sr.

Services for Huey Carlton Calhoun Sr. 57 of Meigs, will be held Monday, February 10, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Midway Baptist Church in Meigs with Pastor Mike Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Huey passed away on February 6, 2020. He was born on September 16, 1962, in Thomasville to the late Huey Calhoun and to the late Virginia Simpson. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as a general foreman for Sumter Utilities. He loved his family and his dogs, Henry, Cotton and Taz. He also loved to fish and was a hard worker who provided for his family and was their family steward. Survivors include his wife, Tammy Calhoun of Meigs; children, Danielle Williford and husband Walt of Coolidge and Carlton Calhoun and wife Kaitlyn of Boston; grandchildren, Will Williford, Gavin Williford, Karlee Williford and Wells Calhoun; brothers & sisters, Joyce Brumbley and husband Gerald of Auburn, Georgia, Jackie Calhoun and wife Kathy of Monticello, Pat Calhoun Rudd of Alabama, Cleveland Calhoun and wife Becky of Boston; other son, Jesse Mayfield and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents and brother, James Ellis Calhoun (Coon). The family will receive friends 5-7pm, Sunday, February 9, 2020, at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
