Hugh F Laing

A memorial service for Hugh F Laing, 64, of Thomasville will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 27, 2012 at First Baptist Church Chapel. Rev. Marty Carnes and Rev. Tom Jacobs will officiate. Mr. Laing passed away September 24 at Archbold Hospital. Born April 23, 1948 in Cairo, he was the son of the late Hugh F. Laing and Irma Broadaway Laing who survives. Hugh was a member of First Baptist Church where he served in several ministries that included Twin Oaks, where he preached all the services and ministered to the residents. He led services for fellow golfers on Sunday before their golf game. Hugh used email and Facebook to post daily devotionals to over 400 people. He just returned from a mission trip in Zambia where he preached in several village churches as well as ministered to the people. This trip was sponsored by Global Samaritans, who has an orphanage there. Other survivors include daughter, Reagan Pierce Laing Lowe and husband Bradley Gary Lowe of Dothan; grandchildren, Kayla Ashton McGhee, Bradley Walker Lowe and Hudson Pierce Lowe; sister, Kay L. Cone and husband Robert E. Cone of Winter Springs, Fl; niece, Andrea A. Cone and nephew, Dustin S. Cone. He was preceded in death by brother, Alan C. Laing.
