Imogene Speer Bass

Services for Imogene Speer Bass, 73, of Thomasville, are at 10:30AM on Monday August 20, 2012 at Boston Baptist Church where she was a member. The Rev. Tim Phillips will officiate and interment will be at Boston Cemetery. Mrs. Bass died August 18, 2012 at Archbold Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born August 22, 1938 in Valdosta, GA she was the daughter of the late Emory Speer and Mamie Lou Coody Speer. On June 2, 1956 in Valdosta, GA she married Fred W. Bass who survives. Mrs. Bass was retired from Peoples Banking Company and Commercial Bank Boston Branch after 31 years of service. Other survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Susan Bass Hale Curtis of Rydal, GA, son, Jeffrey Bass Debra A. of Boston, GA, grandchildren, Colby Brinson Candice, Caleb Kennedy and Landon Bass, great grandchildren, Emilee Lanier Brinson and Kaylee Ruth Brinson, sisters, Faye Phillips, Betty Collins Newton, Laverne Dandrea Pete, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ed Bass Carolyn and Sherry Wadsworth Preston and numerous nieces and nephews which she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dewayne Speer, sister, Virginia Johnson and brother-in-law, Clarence Jr. Phillips. The family will receive friends from 4-6PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
