Memorial service for Iona Agnes Smith, 96, will be held 12:15PM, Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Pelham on Mt. Zion Church Road. Mrs. Smith passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 at Pelham Park Nursing Home. Born June 6, 1920 in Caloric, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Emmett Privett and Virginia Lambert Privett. She was married to Walter Covey Smith on November 18, 2005. Mrs. Smith was a school teacher is, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. Survivors include Jane Brooks of Pelham, Rhett Brooks of Monticello, and Charles Strader of Bonita Springs, Florida; grandchildren Scott Brannon, Holly Bernardo, and Jason Brooks; great grandchildren Luke Brannon, Sophia Bernardo and Emmaline Bernardo ; sister Janice Elkins and brother in law Herb Elkins.
