Services for Ira Lee Hopkins of Coolidge are at 11:00AM on Monday, March 31, 2003 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. Rev. Tom Robson will officiate and interment is in Big Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dave Hopkins, Roger Singletary, Ray Pierce, Chad Fletcher, Tim Donaldson and Mark Bracewell. Mr. Hopkins died March 28, 2003 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born September 5, 1925 in Grady Co., Ga., he was the son of the late Sonny Valentine and Thara Palmer Hopkins. On November 1, 1946 in Grady Co.,Ga. he married Ima Jean Gainous Hopkins who preceded him in death. Mr. Hopkins was a Navy Veteran, a retired truck driver and was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Roscoe Shiver of Coolidge, GA., sons and daughters-in-law, Ikey and Pam Hopkins of Leesburg, GA., Robbie and Whitney Hopkins of Ochlocknee, GA., daughters and son-in-law, Tina and Smitty Mash of Thomasville, Denise and Ricky Bracewell of Thomasville; brothers and sisters-in-law, E. W. and Dot Hopkins of Cairo, Ga., C. W. and Jean Hopkins of Albany, GA., sister, Lydia Asburn of Orlando, Fl., sister-in-law Nell Alligood, thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Sybil Simpson. The family will receive friends at Allen & Allen Funeral Home from 2-4PM on Sunday.
