Irene Elizabeth Carter

Services for Irene Elizabeth Carter, 85, of Thomasville will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Northwood Church of God where she was a member. Rev. Damien Salazar and Rev. David Ellis will officiate and interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Carter passed away February 22, 2012 at her residence. Born February 20, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Doc Boutwell and Goldie Willis. She drove the school bus for Thomas County schools for thirty years. On January 27, 1961 she married Vonleih Carter who survives. Survivors include sons and daughter in laws Bernard and Linda Cannon, Carol and Denise Jones, and Ricky and Patricia Carter all of Thomasville; grandchildren Shawn Clemons, Ricky Cannon, Ricky Carter, Jr., Reggie Carter , and four step grandchildren; Great-grandchildren Levi Clemons, Logan Clemons, Case Maxwell Carter, Colin Davis Carter, Anthony Cannon, Cierra Jade Carter and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Willie Boutwell, Eston Boutwell, Curtis Boutwell, and sister Leda Belle Burke.
