Graveside services for Irilla Geneva Lewis of Thomasville are at 11:00AM on Thursday September 25, 2003 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Dan Spencer will officiate. Miss Lewis died September 23, 2003 at Camellia Gardens. Born April 22, 1899 in Thomas Co., Ga., she was the daughter of the late Jasper Newton and Lettie Williams Lewis. She retired in 1969 after 50 years as a teacher from the Brooks Co. School System. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Retired Educators Association. Survivors include a niece, Sarah Highsmith Massey of Thomasville and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Roxie NeSmith, Annie Mae Martin and Lucy Owens. Memorials may be made to the Georgia Baptist Children?s Home, 9420 Blackshear Hwy., Baxley, GA., 31513. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9PM, Wednesday.
