Irma Dean (Horne) Henderson, 86, of Cairo, GA, passed away at her home on Friday, August 27th, 2021.
Mrs. Henderson, was born on December 10, 1934, in Midland City, AL, to the late Wayne Horne and Ethel Hardy Horne. After graduation from Seminole Co. High School in Donalsonville in 1950, she married Ed Cooper Henderson on September 7, 1951. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Thomasville, where she worked as a bookkeeper for many years. Later, she worked for the State of Georgia; first with Georgia Southwestern State Hospital, and then the State of Georgia’s Veterans Bureau. She was a member of Pine Park Baptist Church, for almost 65 years.
Survivors include: son, Michael Henderson (Ellen) of Cairo, daughter, Vicki Henderson Balfour (Robert) of Thomasville; granddaughters, Lindsay Balfour Durfee (Ryan) of Orlando, FL; Elizabeth Henderson Moore (Chaz) of Portland, OR; Dee Norman McCoy (Travis) of Ochlocknee; great-grandson, Flynn Cooper Durfee and great-granddaughter, Violet Grace Durfee of Orlando, FL, great-grandson, Dalton Duwane Norman of Parris Island, SC; brothers, Payton Horne (Linda) of Jakin; Rev. Gerald Horne (Peggy) of Cairo; and Carey Horne (Diane) of Lucille.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitors to the Henderson home are asked to wear a mask and please use social distancing protocols. Memorial services for Mrs. Henderson are being handled by Allen and Allen Funeral Home of Thomasville, and the time and date will be determined at a later time.

Graveside Services will be conducted at Pine Park Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday, September 2nd, at 10:00 A.M. by Rev. Gerald Horne and Rev. Ron McCaskill.
