Irmandina Halladay

June 20, 1928 — January 21, 2020

Irmandina (Dina) Halladay, 91, of Thomasville, slipped the surly bounds of earth to touch the face of God on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. Dina has resided at Camellia Gardens since 2013. She was born June 20, 1928 in Fall River, Massachusetts. She married the love of her life, Howard Halladay in 1954. Howard’s job with FEMA brought their family to Thomasville in 1963. Dina is best remembered for her friendly disposition and welcoming spirit. This spirit served her well in her 30 years of retail work at Woolworth’s Department store. She loved being around people and enjoyed working in most every department of the retail store. She never knew a stranger, and after she retired, Dina socialized around Thomasville, having coffee with friends and visiting in the community. Dina also loved her church, St. Augustine's Catholic Church and served her church family faithfully through the years alongside her husband, Deacon Howard. She sang in the choir and was part of the Catholic Council of Women serving with great love and devotion. The family would like to thank Camellia Gardens for their love and care of Dina. The staff and residents were part of her family for the past six years. They would also like to thank Dr. Jason Griffin for his support and exceptional care through the years. Dina is survived by her daughter Nancy Bradshaw (Jeff) of Melbourne, Florida; son, Joseph Halladay of Pavo, Georgia; granddaughters, Brady Bradshaw (Martin) of Orlando, Florida; Lindsey Buchanan (Eric) of Orlando, Florida; and her four great-grandchildren, Mary Claire and Beatrice Buchanan and Leo and Lulu Cearras. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Halladay and her daughter, Therese Halladay. The funeral service will take place at St. Augustine's Catholic Church on Saturday, February 1st at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America at https://alzfdn.org/ support-us/donate/. Family and friends are invited to visit and sign her online guest register at www.allenfh.com
