Isaac Hartsfield

Graveside services for Isaac Ike Hartsfield, Jr., 84 of Thomasville will be held 11:00 am, Monday, May 14, 2012 at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Tennessee St. Rev. Lee Waller will officiate. Mr. Hartsfield passed away May 11, 2012 at Golden Living Center. Born December 18, 1927 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Isaac Hartsfield, Sr and Gladys Hatcher Hartsfield. He was married to Alyce Beasley Hartsfield who survives. He was educated in the Thomasville City Schools. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served in World War II, the Pacific Theater of Operations. He served aboard the U.S.S. Sioux and U.S.S. Starlight. He owned and operated Ike's Barber Shop for 4 decades. He was a member of Dawson Street Baptist Church where he was a member of the the Grady Burgess Sunday School Class. He loved fishing and Braves baseball. Other survivors include his daughters, Carol H. Leigh and husband Paul of Cairo, Mary Lynn H. Dull and husband Darrell of Crawfordville, FL; grandchildren, Sean Mitchell and Shelby Mitchell; great grandchildren, Jonathan Mitchell and Joseph Mitchell. He was preceded in death by sister, Vivian H. Hickey and brother, Leon A. Hartsfield.
