Isaac Daniel "Dan" Sloan was born on December 16, 1938, in Moultrie, Georgia, to the late Esther and Wilburn Sloan. He grew up on a farm in Colquitt County and graduated from Moultrie Senior High School in 1958.

Dan married Linda Strickland in 1960. They enjoyed traveling together and visited all but two of the United States. They also enjoyed spending time outdoors and watching wildlife. Linda preceded him in death in April 2026.

Dan was a member of First Baptist Church of Thomasville for 52 years. He was also a longtime Thomasville businessman. He opened Shoe Flair in 1973 and retired from the business in 2000. He opened Bando Shoes in 1984 and retired from that business in 2008.

Dan was a kind and dependable man who cared deeply for his family. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, encouraging words, and willingness to always be there when his family needed him.

He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Breese (David) of Thomasville and Robin Gaston (Greg) of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Sloan Breese, Kaitlyn Breese Swain (Austin), Ryan Gaston, and Grant Gaston; and one great-grandson, Brooks Swain.

Dan is also survived by his brother, Irvin Sloan (Maxine), and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Beasley.

Services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at 10 am prior to the service. Family and friends are invited to attend in honor of Dan's memory. Dan will be laid to rest at Pinecrest Memory Gardens in Moultrie, Georgia.
