Isler Durrell Golden

Graveside services for Isler Durrell Golden, 84 of Thomasville will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, April 25, 2014 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Rev. David Cook will officiate. Pallbearers will be the Thomasville City Fire Dept. Grandsons and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Golden passed away April 23, 2014. Born April 28, 1929 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Richard Lee Golden and Florence Lastinger Golden. On February 11, 1951 at Dawson Street Baptist Church he married Gladys Mae Hogan Golden who preceded him in death. He was a retired fire chief for Thomasville City Fire Department, was a member of Dawson Street Baptist Church and a member of Thomasville Exchange Club. He is survived by his children, Rodney Durrell Golden of Adel, Margaret and husband Dan Stone and Richard Keith Golden all of Thomasville; grandchildren, Richard Stone, Michael & Erin Stone, Kaitlyn Stone, and Rodney Golden; 1 great grandchild, Jacob Stone; sister, Jeanelda Golden McLaughin of Texas. Other than his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Elizabeth Diane Golden; brothers, Alvin Golden, Willie Green Golden, Kenneth Golden and sister, Edna Golden Smith.
