Services for Jack Sylvan Rhoades will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 3:30 PM at Laurel Hill Cemetery with Rev. Andy Daughtry officiating. Jack passed away on November 11, 2020. He was born on December 4, 1936, in Milledgeville, GA to the late J. Enoch Rhoades and to the late Eutha Rhoades. On September 19th, 1959, he married Winifred Funderburk in Alexander City, Alabama. Jack graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University. After college, he worked at Georgia Kaolin Company and Oil DRI. Jack was a member of First Baptist Church, where he sang in the Church Choir and Young at Heart Choir. He was an active Gideon. He loved playing golf and working outside. Survivors include his wife, Winifred Rhoades; children, Kimberly Rhoades Staples of Jackson, GA, Jack Dean Rhoades (Jeanne) of Owatonna, Minnesota; grandchildren, Haley Staples Roberson (Chad), Kyle Robert Staples (Brock), Jenna Nicole Rhoades, Mason Downey Rhoades; great-grandchildren, Connor Roberson, Rhoades Staples; sister, Eleanor Adams (Mike) of The Villages, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Ted Robert Staples. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideon's International, PO Box 2361, Thomasville, Ga 31799
