Services for Jack Winford Palmer, Sr. of Thomasville are at 2:00PM, on Sunday, February 15, 2004 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dan Tomberlin will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ashley Palmer, Gabe Knight, Jimmy Barwick, Jimmy Palmer, Mike Horne and Ralph Carter. Mr. Palmer died February 14, 2004 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born November 9, 1927 in Grady Co., GA., he was the son of the late Charles Luther and Rossie Elizabeth Carter Palmer. He was married to Kathleen Elizabeth McClendon Palmer who preceded him in death. He was a member of Northwood Church of God and worked in construction. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Survivors include daughter, Kathy Palmer and Walt Christian of Thomasville, daughter & son-in-law, Gail & Paul Morrison of Coolidge; daughters-in-law, Ann Palmer of Monument, Colorado, Diane Palmer of Thomasville; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Pat Palmer of Thomasville, brother-in-law, Bud Dixon of Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren, Tracy Palmer, Ashley Palmer, Sarah and Jimmy Barwick, Charlie Palmer, Gabe Knight, Erika Palmer, April Palmer; great grandchildren, Anthony, Bobby, Allen, Ashton and Meghan, special friend, Betty Stringer and several nieces and nephews. Sons, Jack Winford Palmer, Jr. and Darol Wayne Palmer and sister, Bernice Dixon, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 818 Gordon Ave., Thomasville, GA 31792. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 7-9PM.
