Jackie G. Cox

Funeral mass for Jackie G. Cox, 78, of Cairo is 1:30 pm, Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Father Bernard F. Jakubco MSC will officiate. Mr. Cox died April 4, 2009 at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home. Born July 29, 1930 in Sullivan Ind, he was the son of the late Thurman Cox and Jessie Weathers Cox. He was married to Deborah Jo Brown Cox, who survives. Mr. Cox served 6 years in the Navy, having served in the Korean war and served 4 years in the Air Force, owned his own electrical company, was a member of American Legion and the VFW and was the town justice for Pamelia, NY. Other survivors include son Jackie G. Cox II of Blountstown, Fl, grandson, Bryan Ashley, step-sister, Beverly June Shaw of Terre Haute, Ind and several nieces and nephews.
