Services for Jackie Godwin of Thomasville are at 11:00AM on Monday, September 6, 2004 at First Newark Baptist Church. Rev. Mike Keown will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Mikie Godwin, Derek Godwin, Scott Dubose, Rick Harrell, Bo Harrell and David McElwee Mr. Godwin died September 4, 2004 at his residence. Born June 28, 1951 in Mitchell Co., GA he was the son of the late Lawrence Godwin and Geraldine Tucker Godwin who survives in Thomasville. Mr. Godwin was a member of Grace Baptist Church and self-employed. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Other survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Missy and David McElwee of Valdosta, GA., Amy and Dusty Anderson of Cairo, GA., Venice and John Logue of Whigham, GA., son, Jack Godwin, Jr. of Cairo, brother, Mike Godwin of Thomasville, grandchildren, Julie Godwin, Madeline McElwee, Kenan Lacy, Ansley Lacy and Clay Ulmer. A sister, Barbara Harrell, preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to First Newark Baptist Church, 225 Russell Road, Thomasville, GA 31792.
