Funeral Mass for Jacqueline Renee Hoffmann Herring, 72, of Thomasville is at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2007 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, where she was a member. Father Jacek Szuster will officiate. Mrs. Herring died August 28 at her residence. Born February 16, 1935 in Vesoul, France she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Jeanne Dahlem Hoffmann. Mrs. Herring was a teacher and active member of the St. Augustine Council of Catholic women and the Writer?s Club. She enjoyed many hobbies such as knitting, cooking, reading, and taking photographs. She also enjoyed caring for many small children. Survivors include daughter Joan Herring Rathel of Thomasville; sons, Dovin Herring and Daniel Herring both of Thomasville; grandchildren, Mack Rathel, Angel Rathel Phillips, Stephanie Rathel Lynes and Alexis Rathel all of Thomasville; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jean-Antoine Hoffmann and Joseph Hoffman both of France; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins of France and America. Rosary service will be held prior to funeral mass. The family will receive friends in the church parish hall immediately after the service.
