Jacquelyn Roddenberry

Jacquelyn Phinazee Roddenberry, a beloved wife, mother, Gran and great Gran went to her heavenly home August 30, 2026. She is survived by husband Reggie Roddenberry, Daughters: Natalie (Chuck) Mims, Trevor Ann (Michael) Clark, Brooke (Todd) Tillman, Susan Lynn (Michael) Manning. Grandchildren: Mitchell (Lisa) Mims, Michael Mims, Tres (Ashlyn) Brumbley, Morgan Thomas, Dylan & Tristan Brumbley, Reid & Tyler Singletary, Michaela Clark, Sydney & Haley Manning. Great Grandchildren: Bryson Mims, Braxton Brumbley, Rilynn, Donnie, Maggie, Harper, and Wiley Thomas, brother Donald (Frances) Phinazee and numerous niece and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents William “Shortie” & Honoree Phinazee, her brothers Ronald and Herb Phinazee and her grandson in-law Nathan Thomas.

Born in Thomasville, GA on April 4, 1949, she moved to Texas in 1968 where she lived for 18 years before moving to Monticello, FL in 1986. She moved to Georgia in 1991 where she eventually returned to her childhood home in Coolidge.

She was an active member of Metcalf Independent Church where she played piano for many years and served in various leadership roles.

Jackie graduated from Central High School in 1967; she enjoyed the class reunions that she rarely missed and loved helping organize. Jackie had various careers in her lifetime; in the end she worked at Florida Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer when few women occupied that role, became a supervisor and then moved to Central Office and worked in the General Counsel’s office for 2 decades.

Her greatest love was her family, and she poured herself into all of them every chance she had. She was a loyal friend and had many friends she cherished.

Her tenacious spirit will be missed in all of our lives. A life that touches others goes on forever. Those joining us for her service are invited to wear their “GRAN”dest hat in her honor.

Service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Big Creek Baptist Church, 20627 US Hwy 319, Coolidge, GA 31738. Visitation at 10:00 am. Service at 11:00 am.
