Funeral services for James A. Dodson, Sr. , 80, of Boston will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Boston Baptist Church, where he was a member. Rev. Tim Phillips will officiate and burial will be in Boston City Cemetery. Born May 12, 1932 in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Thomas Glenn and Ethal Mae Davis Dodson. On November 39, 1993, Mr. Dodson was married to the late Christine Sherrod. He was retired from International Harvester where he was a PDC Manager. He as a member of The Better Boston Committee and the Planning Committee. Survivors include his sons and daughters in law James A. and Kerri Dodson, Jr. of Rincon, GA, Marcus Lindsey and Robin Banister of Myrtle Beach, SC, daughters and sons in laws, Lisa Quay and Dwight Hicks of Marietta, GA, Phyllis Kris and Bob Burgess of Locust Grove, GA; grandchildren Jessica Pater, Joshua Pater, Matthew Turner, Hannah Dodson, Brian Jarrett, Micah Hicks, Lucas Hicks, Alexis Hicks, Silas Hicks, Eric Burgess and Jarrett Burgess and great grandson, Ethan Jarrett. Also surviving is a brother and sister in law, Norman and Jackie Huff and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by daughters, Debra Marie Turner, Belinda Sue Pater and brothers Clyde Dodson and Carlton Glenn Dodson.
